Hi guys,
This is my first shot at sculpting, but I convert any model I manage to get my hands on so i'm at least a little familiar with GS properties/ irritating traits. That being said i'm low on technique, and would love to bounce ideas and problems off more experienced sculptors. By all means rip this model to shreds, but please follow up with an explanation of what to do differently and how, cause i'm looking to improve here. The GW arms are just there to help me visualize the finished product, i'm going to replace them with sculpted ones soon. Thanks in advance for any and all critisism.
EDIT: by the way if i've missed the point of this site and it's for painting only let me know and i'll get rid of this.

Technique looks good, nice smooth armour surfaces. Anatomy is a little off. The bent right leg should sit higher on the hip, the waist looks a little narrow.
It may have helped to roughly sculpt a person, then add the armour.
Do you have a book, reference on anatomy? _________________ Tyler "Coyote" Provick

Thanks for the feedback coyote, that leg was at the top of my fix-it list. Got a bit more work done, greaves and a foot, and lots of bulking up. my handle of the scale is spiralling out of control unfortunately, he's now about 2 heads taller than a normal marine but i'm going to let it slide this time, trying to fix it would be just way too much work. Not sure about the cloth, I think it looks to rigid, may rip it off and try a different approach.

The proportion on the leg does look better. As for the cloth, I'd say avoid vertical lines. A little slant would show movement and make painting easier by giving painters a top and bottom fold. _________________ Tyler "Coyote" Provick
